Casting Breakdown

The Skriker [Female (Any Age)]
A shapeshifter and death portent, ancient and damaged. A spirit that has come from the Underworld seeking adoration, destruction, and revenge. The Skriker takes on many forms, a derelict old woman, a petulant young girl, an abusive man, a monster, in order to seduce and entrap her targets, Josie and Lily.

Josie [Female (Late Teens-Early Twenties)]
A broken and cynical young woman, she is scared and alone. Having just killed her newborn baby, she was placed in a mental hospital when The Skriker approached her. She tries her best to be strong, but she’s desperate, and the Skriker’s magic is alluring.

Lily [Female (Late Teens-Early Twenties)]
A sweet young woman, if not somewhat naive. She’s about to have a baby and is full of life. She cares about Josie and wants to help her, she wants to help everyone around her. The Skriker preys on her kindness as Lily tries her best to build a life for her and her child.

Spirits [Movement Ensemble]
Spirits from the Underworld join The Skriker as she takes her revenge on humanity. They come in all shapes and sizes: pig men, water hags, ghost children, goblins, fairies, and more. (We will be casting up to 12 actors to play the many spirits throughout the play. These roles are non-speaking, but include movement, dancing, and singing. Open to all ages, genders, and experience levels.)
