Dear Friend of PCS:
It is I – Dolly Gallagher Levi – at the service of PCS Theater – not as a meddler-in-chief, but as a champion of this marvelous volunteer-led nonprofit community theater that is about to bring my story to life onstage – with PCS Theater President, Donna Dougherty, in the title role!
I have never been one to sit idly by when something needs a little nudge. People need people and theaters, my friend, need YOU. Not just applause (as welcome as that is) but the kind of support that keeps the magic happening every night.
This little gem of a theater is about to revive my adventure in Yonkers and New York City, complete, of course, with dancing waiters. But such a production requires resources: dazzling costumes; breathtaking sets; perfectly-tuned musicians; and volunteers who give their hearts and souls.
As my late husband always said – “Money should circulate like rainwater. It’s not worth a thing unless it is spread around encouraging young things to grow!” So, on behalf of PCS Theater, I am asking today for your generous support for the “Dolly Campaign” to keep theater accessible and ticket prices affordable.
Ticket sales cover only a portion of the operating costs to bring my story and others to life. For example:
$20,000/month to simply keep the building running;
$100,000 for season production expenses;
$200,000 to cover general business/physical plant and maintenance expenses; and
$200,000+ to invest in capital improvements.
All donors to my “Dolly Campaign” will be entered into a drawing to win 2 season voucher packages to the remaining shows at PCS Theater. Donors may also use the code RAINWATER to receive $5.00 off tickets purchased in advance for Hello, Dolly! which performs on our Main Stage opening December 19!
