The Players Club of Swarthmore mourns the loss of Dennis Bloh, whose indelible contributions to our theater and community will echo for generations. As a pillar of PCS, Dennis was a passionate artist who brought stories to life with his masterful direction and heartfelt performances. Among the countless plays he graced with his talents, he was most noted for directing The Good Doctor, Mack and Mabel, The Chosen, and Ten Little Indians among others, leaving an unforgettable mark on all who had the privilege of witnessing his artistry. Dennis passed away on December 26.
PCS President Donna Dougherty reflected, “Dennis’s contributions to the legacy and fabric of PCS Theater are broad and enduring. Those of us who had the pleasure of knowing him and working with him are better actors, directors, and human beings. He will be missed.”
Dennis was more than an artist; he was a champion of people. Anne Marie Scalies beautifully encapsulated his spirit: “Dennis was a champion of people and always found a way to announce your excellence. His warm hugs, infectious laugh, and contagious energy will be sorely missed.”
For Dennis, theater was not just an art form but a community, a family. He uplifted everyone around him with his humor, generosity, and unwavering belief in the transformative power of storytelling.
We honor his memory with gratitude for the legacy he built at PCS and the countless lives he touched with his brilliance and boundless heart. Thank you, Dennis, for everything you gave to our stage and our souls. You will always be a part of our story.
