CAST
|
In a unique theatrical project, Kaufman and members
of his troupe conducted and recorded interviews with
townspeople of Laramie, Wyoming in the year after
the murder of Matthew Shepard. They constructed this
theater piece from segments of the interviews, using
only the actual spoken words of the participants.
The result is a breathtaking theatrical collage, revealing
the impact of an extraordinary event on ordinary people.
Their reactions to an act of chilling brutality are
by turns unfeeling, indignant, thoughtful, compassionate,
but always genuine and surprising.
