Budapest, some time in the thirties,
Georg, the clerk in the parfumerie, is clever, hardworking,
ambitious, and in trouble with his boss. Enter Amalia,
clever, hardworking, ambitious, and on her way to
being the boss's favorite. Is it surprising that she's
hardly a favorite with Georg? But each of these clever
people has a clever secret, and for each it's the
pen-pal lover they write to and long to meet.

CAST
|
This sweet-tempered musical by the makers of Fiorello
and Fiddler on the Roof was first on Broadway
in 1963 with the legendary Barbara Cook; the 1993
revival was a 1994 Tony award winner. Wherever it
goes, the show charms audiences with its witty lyrics,
appealing characters, and just-right plot. As light
and delectable as a Hungarian pastry, it's bound to
be a holiday favorite with PCS audiences.
