CAST

A
dark comedy of Christmas lost and Christmas regained by
the author of Prelude to a Kiss, Reckless has
a plot so tumultuous that it's better experienced than recounted.
Its wide-eyed heroine has the rug pulled out from under
her life by violent dislocations, always on Christmas Eve,
and spends a lifetime coming to terms with the world's recklessness.
Lucas keeps his characters suspended somewhere between parable
and the Keystone Kops, and yet, as Frank Rich wrote admiringly,
the play "has a simple emotional pull akin to that
of a Crosby ballad." |
