2013-2014 Second Stage

PCS Second Stage

It’s Not Just Readings

For over twenty years Second Stage has presented a wealth of fare too daring, or ambitious, or just plain odd for the Main Stage, in an intimate setting that puts you close to the action. Typical Second Stage productions are presented out of book after twelve to fourteen rehearsals: we call them the challenge series because they challenge the craft of our actors and often the settled tastes of our audiences.

Again this year we present an evening of new plays by members of the PCS extended family.

Finally, our musical cabarets present some of our most exciting talent in a cozy, up-close setting. Bring your favorite beverage.

Except for Indian Summer, all plays are performed out of book in completely rehearsed, polished format, though with modest production values.

The Raymond W. Smith theater, our intimate black-box space above the lobby, is not handicapped-accessible.

All other curtain times 8:00 p.m. *Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m.
