Ticket Prices: Admission $10 online or at the door. Subscription vouchers for the current season are also accepted.

 


 
These are readings (not staged works) with the primary purpose of allowing the playwrights to see how their works “play.” We absolutely want friends and family (and “others!”) to come and participate in the feedback discussions. The post-reading feedback process will be facilitated by local theater professionals.

The Playwrights

Julie Zaffarano is an emerging Philadelphia playwright. Her play, The PlayMakers, Winner of 2016 What If? Productions Annual Playwrights Festival, was produced in Charleston, June 2017. Other recent readings: Work in Progress Theatre, Baltimore; “Readings at the Drake” PlayPenn series (Wilma Theatre, Philadelphia); Philadelphia Dramatists Center; Cloverdale Playhouse “Page to Stage Contest. She received an Honorable Mention from Ohio State University New Play Fest, Semi-Finalist for the O’Neill National 2017 Playwrights Conference, Finalist Maryland Ensemble Theatre (METLab) 2017 Festival, Finalist Villanova University 2016 Sue Winge Competition, 2016 Finalist Strange Sun Theatre Greenhouse, and Semi-Finalist Actors Theatre of Charlotte Nuvoices.
Lindsay Harris-Friel holds an MFA in Playwriting from Temple University. Her play, Traveling Light, was produced in Philadelphia in 2013 by Liam’s Sofa Cushion Fortress, and in Minneapolis in 2010 by Theatre Pro Rata. Her play Pretty Petty Things was produced at Casa 101 in Los Angeles by Teatro MOZ. Walter’s Table was produced in April, 2014, as part of the Radical Jewish Philadelphia Symposium. It’s Kevin’s Show and Wide Open Spaces were both semi-finalists for the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Playwrights Conference. Her audio drama podcast about Norse deities and the dystopian future is available to be heard at Jarnsaxarising.com. She lives in Philadelphia with her rock star/crime-fighter husband, a small menagerie, and puppets waiting to be made. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild.
Greg Nanni is a playwright, comic book writer, and marketer living in the Philadelphia area. He is a member of Witherspoon Circle, Passage Play Lab, a former PDC Playwright in Residence at Plays & Players, the Literary Manager of the Idiopathic Ridiculopathy Consortium, and the former Marketing Manager of Plays & Players Theatre. He is the Co-Founder and Co-Moderator of the PDC Playwrights’ Happy Hour. He is the Co-Writer of the Youtube SeriesBar-N-Tavern. He is the Assistant Sales Manager at the Bucks County Playhouse, a board member of the PDC, and has interned with Azuka Theatre in the past. He was the cofounder and editor of The Rome Review, a printed literary magazine. His One Act plays have been featured in 24 Hour Festivals and Readings throughout the Greater Philadelphia Area, and have been produced nation-wide. He is a graduate of the George Washington University.
Dave Ebersole is a playwright, comic book writer, director, amateur mixologist, and sometimes-actor in the Philadelphia area. Dave is member of The Dramatist Guild and has had his plays produced at The Centre Theater, The Ithaca Fringe Festival, Casabuena Cultural Productions, Quince Productions, L’Ament Productions, The Stagercrafters Theater, The Players Club of Swarthmore, and Spotlight Theatre. His plays can be found on The New Play Exchange and they include: Task, Living Space, The Church Bells All Were Broken, Subdivision, Divided We… and his Lights ON Trilogy: Absolution, Redemption: a romantic comedy?, and Contrition. He is the co-creator and writer of DASH, an ongoing comic book series published by Northwest Press. He lives outside Philadelphia with his puppy Ernie.
